
Account Manager, Sports

Position Summary
Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman seeks an Account Manager, Sports to join a team of dedicated professionals. The role may be based in Manhattan, NY or White Plains, NY on a hybrid basis. The Account Manager, Sports serves as the primary point of contact for all client‑related needs, oversees day‑to‑day finances and high‑level accounting review for clients, and manages a team of Managers and Account Managers in the Sports Center of Excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Respond to client inquiries and requests promptly, disseminating client information internally as appropriate
Coordinate workflow of the Account Manager and Manager teams
Oversee daily client activity, including requests and timely follow up on all outstanding matters
Review work of Account Managers and Managers
Cash management by reviewing bank balances and statements and approving transfers as needed
Monitor credit card activity, fraud alerts, and credit score issues
Download credit card activity and order new credit cards
Monitor insurance renewals and claims
Set up new clients, including bank accounts
Assist with home and car purchases
Create tour packages in conjunction with the tax department
Conduct tax research and multi‑jurisdictional planning, including foreign touring clearance
Review financial reports, such as net‑worth statements, cash‑flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, and tour reconciliations
Work with internal firm resources to assist with client contracts, royalties processing, and customized financial schedules
Assist with other financial transactions and reporting, such as 1099s, annual/quarterly filings
Coordinate with the accounting/tax department to provide a continuum of service
Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 3 years in a similar role in business management, client services, and/or touring
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance highly preferred
4+ years in a similar role in business management and/or touring preferred
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles (general ledger, AP/AR, insurance, payroll, bank reconciliations, financial statements and reporting)
Advanced knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws and regulations
Ability to delegate, manage and train teams using clear instructions
Sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to follow through
Ability to juggle a high volume of work and remain adept at constantly switching tasks
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a trusting relationship with staff and clients
Supervision abilities, including leadership, development, and training
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Advanced knowledge of Agilink, CCH Axcess highly preferred
The candidate must also:
Be a self‑motivated and detail‑oriented analytical thinker
Work well independently and in a team environment
Have a working knowledge of a variety of professional sports and a desire to help professional athletes

This is an exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between
$90,000 – $115,000 ; actual base pay may vary based on experience, expertise, geographic location and skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package, which may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
