Comments Upper School Orchestra Director: Part-Time Position
St. Andrew’s Episcopal School seeks to hire an innovative, nurturing, and knowledgeable Upper School (US) Orchestra Director (grades 9-12) with responsibilities to begin in August 2026. At St. Andrews, we believe in the importance of multi-contextual relationships as foundations for learning. Beyond relevant credentials and experience, compelling candidates should work effectively with high school age students, demonstrate a creative and engaging instructional style, and value the whole student's development. All teachers at St. Andrew’s are responsible for advancing the school’s mission and its commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated passion for teaching music and working with high school students.
Ability to instruct students across a range of skill levels, with clear evidence of differentiated instruction.
Strong knowledge of appropriate ensemble and solo repertoire.
Commitment to planning and facilitating collaborative, student-centered learning experiences, including culturally responsive teaching practices.
Proficient in computer applications, including Google Workspace.
