HR Value Partners , we provide hands-on, fractional HR support to small and mid-sized organizations that don't have internal HR. Our Generalists do real HR work every day. You will personally handle a meaningful amount of hands-on HR while also owning bigger-picture direction for your clients.
This role blends execution, problem-solving, and consulting. It is dynamic, fast-moving, and designed for people who want variety, ownership, and continuous growth.
What Your Day-to-Day Actually Looks Like
You will personally perform
both hands-on HR work and higher-level consulting
for your clients.
This is not a "pure strategy" role.
You will be in the weeds when needed handling employee relations, documentation, policy updates, employee questions, and compliance-related tasks. You will also step back to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
You will support
up to 6 client companies . You will have:
A shared client-facing HR Administrator An internal sourcing/admin support team for overflow work Other Generalists who serve as thought partners and backups You will personally perform a meaningful portion of the work. You will also leverage support when volume spikes or projects require extra capacity.
Ownership of the work and outcomes ultimately sits with you.
Expect roughly
12 onsite client days per month , with the remainder remote, plus regular phone and email support.
The Work You'll Personally Perform and Own
Core HR & Compliance
Employee relations guidance and documentation Performance management, coaching, and disciplinary support (including drafting documentation) Handbook and policy development/maintenance Basic employment law compliance (wage/hour, leave, benefits, workers' comp, etc.) Talent Lifecycle
Actively participate in and oversee recruiting and selection processes Own onboarding and orientation Guide performance reviews, development, and succession planning Support compensation and benefits administration Consulting & Projects
Conduct HR and compliance audits Build prioritized action plans Lead and execute HR projects Translate business goals into practical HR solutions Why People Like Working Here

You're Likely a Great Fit If You Have
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field Minimum
3+ years HR Generalist experience
(manufacturing experience a plus) HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) Strong working knowledge of the full employment lifecycle Excellent communication and writing skills Sound judgment, maturity, and professional presence Comfort managing multiple priorities Comfortable using Microsoft Office and HRIS/ATS platforms Important Logistics
Client sites may be up to ~2 hours from Mount Pleasant, WI Mondays and Fridays are generally office-based or remote Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) with match
