Compensation:
Approximately $150k - $200k annual compensation - includes base pay and potential commission
Job Summary: The Account Manager (Sales) is responsible for planning and coordinating all sales activity for our production sites as assigned, supplying products to a wide range of customers. Overall objective is to obtain market share by establishing and achieving target sales volumes and margins to grow the business. Customer management is the core function of this role. Day to day responsibilities include monitoring operating plan performance and achievement, ensuring action plans are in place to respond to opportunities and threats in the sales environment. Responsible for sales planning, pricing implementation, contract development and negotiation, customer mix planning, and forecasting.
Responsibilities Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Development of new business growth
Maintain and expand existing business
Manage margin growth at existing accounts
Achieve plan targets
Coordinate sales efforts with operations, marketing, and R&D
Monitor and report on competitive activity in the industry
Relationship building with key customer personnel who influence the buying decision, can include various functions (operations, senior mgmt., R&D, etc.)
Represent the company in trade associations
Manage key business strategies
Travel as necessary to meet business objectives
Maintains and cultivates in – depth customer contacts to ensure maximum sales penetration
Principle Working Relationships:
Work directly with customer service, other account managers, marketing mgmt., R&D, plant mgmt., quality assurance, credit & collections, distribution, and senior sales mgmt.
Develop strategies and tactics, along with gaining customer and market intelligence, either directly or via distributor network.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs other duties as required.
Actively participates in Operational Excellence to improvement processes, and utilizes tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.

Qualifications Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Experience:
Incumbent should possess a bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (preferably chemistry or chemical engineering)
10+ years of sales or comparable experience.
Proficiency in CRM and sales analytics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Core competencies: communication, planning, organizing, facilitating, time management, and a drive towards results
Strong English language skills are required
Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver results through tactical management
Strong business and financial acumen, ability to understand budgets and link sales performance to P&L impact
Exceptional communication, interpersonaland negotiation skills
Strategic pricing
Ability to work well independently and as part of a group
“Can do” attitude
Ability to understand and coordinate the interrelationships between projects stakeholders
Exceptional communicationand people skills
Works well under pressureand works with a sense of urgency

Travel/Working Hours:
Required to travel within sales region and nationally.
