Primary Purpose The Director of Tech Transformation Program Ops leads the strategy, governance, and orchestration of the entire technology transformation initiative. Serving as the operational and analytical nerve center, this role ensures alignment of workstreams, resources, timelines, and third‑party partners to a unified delivery roadmap. This leader integrates IT planning across the workstreams, milestone management, and value tracking, driving accountability and transparency at every stage. The Transformation Program Director provides the structured framework and disciplined oversight necessary to guide the enterprise through a complex, multi‑year transformation journey.

In this role, the team will oversee Technology PMO, program management standards, organizational change and training enablement, vendor governance, and transformation controls to ensure the program delivers on scope, timeline, budget, and value realization.

The Tech Program Ops Lead will work closely with the Business Program Operations Lead to orchestrate integrated governance across business and technology workstreams, ensuring alignment, transparency, and execution excellence across the enterprise.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in‑person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. This position is based out of our Salisbury, NC office. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities Technology PMO & Program Management

Lead the Technology PMO function supporting the multi‑year SAP transformation.

Establish and enforce program management standards, cadence, and controls across all technology workstreams.

Oversee integrated program planning, dependency management, RAID management, financial tracking, and executive reporting.

Ensure consistent stage‑gate governance, milestone tracking, and delivery health assessment.

Provide executive‑level dashboards and insights to program steering committees.

Methods, Tools & Reporting

Define and standardize program delivery methodologies (e.g., hybrid SAP Activate, agile/waterfall integration).

Own program tooling ecosystem (PPM tools, reporting platforms, collaboration tools, risk tracking systems).

Ensure consistent reporting frameworks across technology and SI teams.

Drive data‑driven performance management using standardized KPIs and metrics.

Continuously improve delivery playbooks and governance artifacts.

Organizational Change Management & Training (Technology)

Lead technology‑focused change management strategy aligned with enterprise OCM framework.

Oversee training strategy for IT teams, support organizations, and technical SMEs.

Ensure readiness planning for cutover, hypercare, and post‑go‑live stabilization.

Align communications, stakeholder engagement, and adoption metrics across tech workstreams.

Coordinate closely with Business OCM to ensure synchronized change execution.

Asset Management & Controls

Establish governance for program assets, including:

Architecture artifacts

Configuration documentation

Integration designs

Test assets

Knowledge repositories

Ensure intellectual property and documentation are structured for long‑term sustainment.

Define transition‑to‑run readiness standards, including operational documentation and support models.

Vendor Governance (SAP & System Integrator)

Lead governance model for SAP and System Integrator partnerships.

Oversee contractual compliance, deliverable tracking, milestone acceptance, and performance measurement.

Manage escalation processes and issue resolution at executive levels.

Ensure SI adherence to program standards, reporting frameworks, and quality benchmarks.

Partner with procurement and legal teams on financial and commercial oversight.

Integrated Program Governance & Orchestration

Partner with Business Program Operations to drive end‑to‑end governance across business and technology domains.

Align steering committees, executive reporting, and decision forums.

Coordinate cross‑functional dependency management across workstreams.

Support value realization tracking and benefits management oversight.

Ensure seamless coordination across deployment waves and brands.

Budget & Financial Management

Own end‑to‑end financial oversight for the technology transformation program, including multi‑year budgeting, forecasting, and lifecycle cost management.

Develop and manage program budgets covering internal resources, System Integrator services, SAP and platform licensing, infrastructure, tools, and contingency reserves.

Establish financial controls to monitor burn rate, forecast accuracy, capitalization vs. expense treatment, and variance management.

Oversee vendor financial governance, including invoice validation, milestone‑based payments, and contract compliance.

Provide transparent executive reporting on budget performance, financial risks, and cost optimization opportunities across deployment waves.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, operations, technology, or a related field. (or equivalent related work experience).

10+ years of experience in program or portfolio management within enterprise‑wide initiatives.

Deep understanding of transformation governance structures and milestone‑based delivery approaches.

Proven track record managing large‑scale complex SAP or similar ERP system‑enabled business transformations.

Strong coordination, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Comfort with program analytics, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation processes.

25‑50% travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in relevant field of study, Additional training or certifications in relevant field of study.

Experience in a transformation office (TMO), PMO, or enterprise strategy function.

Familiarity with SAP implementation frameworks and methodologies.

Ability to synthesize executive sponsor inputs, functional team requirements, and external partner contributions into integrated delivery plans.

Experience supporting complex change, data, or process streams within transformation programs.
