Position Summary Responsible for overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing operations. This key leadership position requires a results-driven individual with a proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing practices, driving process improvements, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Planning
Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with overall company objectives.
Drive initiatives focused on safety, enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving product quality.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align manufacturing goals with the company's long-term vision.
Operational Leadership
Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are efficiently met with high-quality standards.
Implement and manage lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and reduce waste.
Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing culture through mentoring, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance
Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Cost Management
Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, and quality assurance, to streamline processes and improve overall product development life cycle.
Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication within the manufacturing team and across the organization.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
Experience with composites manufacturing (marine environment preferred).
Proven experience in a leadership role within manufacturing, with a track record of successful process optimization and team development.
Prior experience developing and executing a strategic plan in the manufacturing environment.
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to accomplish goals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Safety Supervisors and Managers must ensure safe work assignments, workspaces, properly functioning tools, equipment, and understand safety procedures. Leaders are expected to correct identified hazards (where and when applicable), assist and/or investigate the causes of incidents, and take action to prevent similar incidents from happening. Leaders will discuss safety information, requirements in team huddles and during performance reviews with all employees.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. The employee is expected to be able to climb stairs and occasionally lift 30lbs.
