Location: San Diego, CA
Supporting high-quality viral biomaterials and assay development in a global virology center. At Microbiologics, we support the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic testing worldwide through high-quality products and scientific expertise. Our Global Virology Center plays a critical role in producing high-quality viral biomaterials and developing PCR- and cell-based assays that support custom research and diagnostic advancement.

Your work will directly support the Global Virology Center while helping you build technical, analytical, and professional skills.
What You’ll Do Virology Laboratory Support
Perform lab‑based experiments including virus production, determination of infectious titers, and antiviral assays
Conduct cell culture, molecular cloning, and PCR
Monitor laboratory equipment such as freezers, refrigerators, and incubators; record temperature, pressure, and CO 2
levels
Assist with routine laboratory maintenance and cleaning
Maintain documentation in accordance with Quality Assurance standards
Compliance & Safety
Work in a BSL-2 laboratory environment with infectious agents
Follow all company policies, safety practices, and PPE requirements
Ensure proper disposal of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace
Collaboration & Professional Development
Participate in department meetings and Granite Partners Internship Bridge meetings
Complete a final presentation and present project results to site and company leadership
Support additional departmental needs within the San Diego site as assigned

Currently enrolled at a college or university
Majoring in Biology, Microbiology, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or related field
Prior laboratory experience preferred
Familiarity with cell culture and molecular biology techniques preferred
Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
In good academic standing (3.0+ GPA preferred)
Work Environment
BioSafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory environment
Work with infectious agents, chemicals, and laboratory equipment
Occasional exposure to cold conditions (walk‑in coolers/freezers)
Moderate noise level in laboratory and office areas
Potentially hazardous environment for immunocompromised individuals
