Inizio Evoke Comms is a global, award‑winning health communications agency that partners with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medtech, consumer, and non‑profit clients. We deliver insights‑driven public relations campaigns, policy programs, and initiatives that advance health and wellbeing around the world.

We are looking for a Director, Media Relations to join our team! You will be responsible for the planning and management of strategic media, communications plans, and campaigns across the agency, working with account leads. You are a master of media practices and have a proven record of success, with the ability to build productive relationships with clients and reporters.

This is a remote role reporting to a Senior Vice President, Media Relations.

You Will:

Client Partnerships

Show mastery of all media practices, communicating with all levels of media outlets, including top‑tier reporters

Maintain relationships with external groups and stakeholders (e.g., advocacy groups, vendors, etc.)

Oversee development and implementation of media portion of communications programs, ensuring best practices and quality of deliverables

Understand client goals and strategy; offer strategic guidance to multiple clients; attend onsite client meetings and media events solo, accompany talent to media opportunities with account lead

Ensure productive agency relationships with clients and reporters to build trust and serve as a valuable resource

Show mastery of media training, working with C‑suite level internal and external spokespeople

Integrate AI tools and data analysis into media relations programs to achieve organizational goals

Handle issue‑management–related scenario planning for media activities and execution in times of crisis

Track overall project timing to meet client expectations and ensure deadlines are met

Leadership & Teamwork

Build trust and be a valuable resource; demonstrating teamwork across the account team

Manage individuals and help guide their professional growth within the organization

Support company values and an inclusive culture

Effective Communication

Possess strong verbal and written communication skills both internally and externally

Oversee process of determining solutions to problems, initiating brainstorms and assigning tasks for internal colleagues based on areas of expertise

Come prepared to internal and external meetings and take the lead in driving discussions

Business Development

Understand agency operations, policies, and procedures; communicate agency services and capabilities

Provide strategic insight into new business program development, proposal development, and attend pitches as media representative

Develop and oversee new business plans as they relate to media activities

Understand costs associated with core media activities and provide thoughtful recommendations to the account team

You Will Bring:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, marketing, business or health/science related field or equivalent experience

7+ years of experience in public relations and communications; health or pharma communications experience required

4+ years of experience in media relations including pitching reporters, creating media lists, etc.

Experience in scientific therapy areas including oncology, rare disease, and neuroscience

Understanding of Inizio Evoke Communications' missions and values and a commitment to the growth and success of the company

Experience driving current or new business growth

Passion for improving lives through innovations in health

A good understanding of current issues in domestic and global health

Compensation $100,000 — $130,000 USD.
