THE ROLE We are looking for a creative and detail‑oriented Packaging Designer to support the development and evolution of packaging across our owned brands. In this role, you will partner closely with cross‑functional teams including Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Production to bring our products to life on shelf and online. Your work will shape how Thrive Market communicates brand values, quality, and identity through packaging design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design packaging for Thrive Market owned brands, ensuring alignment with brand standards and product positioning.
Partner with regulatory teams to ensure compliance elements are incorporated correctly.
Maintain organized packaging files and asset libraries for production efficiency.
Prepare accurate packaging artwork using dielines and printer specifications.
Translate creative briefs into packaging concepts and production‑ready designs.
Collaborate closely with photo, content, merchandising, and marketing teams to understand project goals and creative direction.
Conduct market and competitive research to stay informed on packaging trends, consumer preferences, and category benchmarks.
Develop packaging mockups and presentation materials for internal review and stakeholder feedback.
Provide direction on on‑pack photography, retouching, and visual elements to achieve the desired aesthetic.
Produce Epson prints as needed to support packaging visualization and ensure accuracy during the design process.
Review digital files and coordinate with manufacturers to ensure final packaging is accurate and production‑ready.
Partner with the production design team to finalize packaging assets, ensuring precision in layouts, patterns, and brand application.
Design custom icons, visual elements, and supporting graphics for packaging and on‑site product experiences.
Maintain consistency across all packaging by adhering to and evolving the Thrive Market brand style guide.
Identify opportunities to elevate packaging through improved design systems, materials, and visual storytelling.
QUALIFICATIONS
3–6+ years of experience in packaging design, preferably within CPG, retail, or e‑commerce.
Portfolio showcasing strong packaging design work and brand storytelling.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
Experience preparing production‑ready packaging files and collaborating with manufacturers or print vendors.
Strong understanding of dielines, print production, and prepress workflows.
Experience working with multi‑SKU packaging systems and product variations.
Familiarity with CPG regulatory labeling considerations.
Strong understanding of packaging trends, consumer behavior, and visual merchandising.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency across multiple products.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback from cross‑functional stakeholders.

JOB INFORMATION
Compensation Description: The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
Total compensation includes base salary, stock options, health & wellness benefits, flexible PTO, and more.
This position requires traveling to our headquarters in Los Angeles, California, twice a year for all‑company summits; once in the summer and once in the winter.
