Job Title: Mechanical Designer (Experience in P&IDs(Piping & Instrumentation Drawings) development) Job Description seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer with 5–10 years of P&ID development experience. This role is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) that illustrate fluid flow, control systems, and equipment used in industrial processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

P&ID Development :

Create, modify, and maintain P&IDs using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD).

Accurately represent piping systems, equipment layouts, instrumentation, and control strategies.

Collaboration:

Partner with mechanical engineers, process engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure designs meet project specifications.

Documentation:

Prepare detailed P&ID documentation including equipment symbols, instrument data, piping layouts, control loops, and asset naming/numbering conventions.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure P&IDs comply with applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and project-specific requirements.

Component Selection:

Support engineering teams in selecting appropriate piping materials, valves, instruments, and related components based on operational and design criteria.

Change Management:

Document, track, and manage revisions to P&IDs, ensuring stakeholders are informed of updates and changes.

Quality Control:

Review and validate P&IDs for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with safety and project standards.

As-Built Documentation:

Develop as-built P&IDs to reflect final installed conditions following construction or system modifications.

Conduct field walkdowns to verify system accuracy and validate CAD updates.

Communication & Support:

Clearly communicate design concepts and modifications to team members and stakeholders.

Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior designers and drafters in P&ID development.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.

5–10 years of mechanical design experience with a strong focus on P&ID development in industrial or manufacturing environments.

Proficiency in P&ID software (AutoCAD required).

Strong understanding of industrial processes, equipment, and instrumentation systems.

Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and industry standards related to P&ID development.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

High attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality deliverables.
