Responsibilities

Responsible for oversight and direction of financial, operational management and coordination of staff and activities within the University Business Administrators (UBA) site at the College of Motion Picture Arts (CMPA) and the Torchlight Studios Center for Cinematic Innovation. Serves as a member of the CMPA Executive Management Team. Participates in strategic planning and staffing decisions within the College of Motion Picture Arts.

Ensures sound fiscal management and compliance, including keeping up to date on, and interpreting Florida Statues, State, and University financial and administrative policies/procedures for CMPA. Implements university Financial, HR, Travel, Foundation, and sponsored research policies and procedures. Provides leadership and direction of policy development by reviewing, analyzing, developing, interpreting, and implementing best practices for sound and effective management.

Ensures the services mutually defined and agreed upon by CMPA and the UBA are provided. Assesses, develops, and implements quality control measures ensuring customer satisfaction. Ensures the most effective operations within the College through program development and process improvement. Serves as a member of the CMPA Executive Management Team. Serves on committees within the College and University.

Provides administrative and financial advice and counsel to the Dean as it relates to CMPA. Develops and recommends administrative strategies to the Dean that support the mission of the College and its initiatives. Interprets and communicates policies to faculty, staff, and the CMPA administrators. Evaluates CMPA policies and procedure for effectiveness and leads the Administrative team in developing, implementing, and maintaining new, more efficient procedures through research, program development, and process improvement strategies.

Conducts research as appropriate for operationally related special projects, planning, and reporting. Reviews and approves actions in consultation with the Dean for administrative functions with delegated signatory authority.

Manages and monitors the financial positions of CMPA, including long-term revenue and expense projections. Identifies appropriate control activities so that the College's unique risks are properly mitigated and recommends appropriate corrective actions if deficiencies are found.

Assists in training and guiding students on the production expense reimbursement process. Serves as the Budget Account Manager for the College and implements the annual budget process through budget formulation, preparation, and maintenance. Collaborates with the Dean to prepare long-term budget strategies for the College. Responsible for developing and maintaining financial reporting. Provides reporting data to the Dean and external entities. Assists faculty with C&G budget creation and the RAMP process for grants through SRA. Responsible for the MPA tuition waiver process. Assists in preparing waiver lists, enters waivers in OMNI Student Central, reviews reports for accuracy and monitors the college waiver allocation. Participates in projects designed to expand or enhance financial and operational systems within the CMPA.

Ensures a sound environment of internal controls by monitoring the work of CMPA accounting or administrative personnel performing functions related to procurement, travel, HR, Sponsored Research, FSU Foundation, and other related activities. Monitors the College financial transactions such as requisitions, internal and external Purchase Orders, travel authorizations, expense reports, RAMP management, construction and facilities related. Monitors the College HR administration, recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluations. Approves personnel actions in accordance with policies set by the College and University. Ensures the College has access to the most up-to-date material and guidance from the University related Human Resource deadlines, policies, and procedures.

Develops and maintains partnerships throughout the university and F&A community, including the Controller's Office, Budget, Procurement, HR and Travel, to achieve College goals and objectives. Coordinates and manages the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluations of assigned staff providing guidance and direction of tasks. Manages, updates, and documents financial and administrative processes and procedures to accomplish College operational functions. Assists with special projects to align with the goals and objectives of the College.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to budget, financial and/or accounting services or a combination of post high school education and experience in the same equal to eight years.
