Compensation Posted Range: $28.59/hour. This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary growth.

Primary Role No Experience Required. This is an entry level position with on-the-job training. Requires a valid California Driver’s License with minimal moving violations, a high school diploma, or the equivalent. Employees hired or transferred into this role must obtain a California State Water Resource Control Board Distribution Certificate 1 within one year of hire or transfer.

Key Accountabilities

Drive a company vehicle.

Read, troubleshoot, repair, install, replace, and test water meters.

Initiate and terminate water services.

Provide superior customer service face to face or over the phone while responding to customer inquiries/complaints.

Work with various equipment including meter reading devices, cell phones, laptops, and larger construction equipment.

Special projects and assignments as required.

Must be comfortable working alone.

Schedule: M‑T 6:30 am to 5:00 pm or M‑F 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Knowledge & Skills

Lifting 50 lbs unaided.

Working long hours (overtime included).

Walking and/or climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling on varied terrain for long periods.

May require working in hazardous areas including high traffic roadways, trenches, excavations, confined spaces, elevated areas, and backyards of private properties.

Digging.

Potential exposure to poison oak, insects, reptiles, and animals.

Experience & Education

Valid California Driver’s License with minimal moving violations.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic computer skills.

Must possess a California State Water Resources Control Board Distribution Certificate.

Employees hired or transferred into this role must obtain a Distribution Certificate 1 within one year of hire or transfer.
