The Account Representative is committed to driving sales revenue and expanding our customer base through outstanding account management and product expertise. This essential team member will utilize their industry knowledge, honed through extensive experience and continuous learning, to effectively understand customer needs and preferences. As they immerse themselves in the customers' environments and stay up‑to‑date on the latest product offerings and inventory levels, they will develop and leverage expert insights to uncover upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
Through on‑the‑ground interactions and hands‑on knowledge of our products, the Account Representative will cultivate in‑depth product understanding, allowing them to provide tailored recommendations that enhance the overall customer experience and ensure seamless order processing. This expertise, combined with their relationship‑building skills and proactive management of their book of business, will enable them to consistently meet or exceed sales goals, contributing significantly to the company’s seasonal targets and long‑term growth.
Customer Service & Coordination
Orchestrate and process customer orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to enhance the overall customer experience.
Generate and mobilize customer quotes, bookings, and sales forecast to drive sales growth and meet business objectives.
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner, providing expert advice and recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales, and inventory levels, utilizing the CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure seamless communication and data management.
Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with customers, and identifying opportunities to upsell and cross‑sell products to drive sales growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
Account Management
Actively manage and scale your book of businesses to maximize sales growth through proactive upselling and cross‑selling initiatives, focusing on promoting green goods and hardscapes.
Oversee customer accounts by identifying and addressing customer needs and proactively recognizing potential future needs to enhance satisfaction.
Conduct weekly calls and outreach communications with customers to maintain engagement and build relationships.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling during customer interactions to enhance sales and overall customer satisfaction.
Scale your book of business season over season, consistently meeting or exceeding established sales goals and objectives.
Promote product offerings to customers, highlighting features and benefits to drive interest and sales.
Promote Company as the leader in quality, service, and availability.
Act as an expert resource for customers, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, products, and services.
Document all customer information and communication into the CRM system.
Inventory
Research and acquire material, give advice on plants, and offer substitutions if needed.
Maintain accurate inventory knowledge by staying up‑to‑date on current stock levels and projected inventory needs.
Promote Company’s product lines and services.
Stay knowledgeable about industry emerging products to provide informed recommendations and expert advice to customers.
Provide sales forecast through management of future orders and customer quotes by analyzing sales data.
Partner with other account representatives and operations team members to facilitate delivery/pick‑up accuracy.
Inspection of material and orders.
Update inventory levels specific to bids and quotes received, ensuring accurate and timely information.
Tag and organize products to ensure easy identification and accessibility.
Take photos of the most recent products available.
Safe Workplace
Promote and maintain a safe work environment and ensure staff training on safety protocols.
Other Duties
Assist with content related to SOPs and their development.
Other job duties as assigned by Site Manager.
Participation in meetings, and working festival shifts beyond traditional hours will be required.
Experience / Education
High School Diploma or GED Required.
1+ years in plant industry or related fields (landscaping, garden center, nursery) Required.
Familiarity with nursery or ornamental horticulture (preferred).
Experience in customer service.
Experience in sales.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products including Outlook, Word and Teams Required.
Familiarity with Point of sale and inventory systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in pricing, tagging, and signage.
Ability to adopt new technologies.
Process and Procedure oriented.
Valid Driver's License Required.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment Must be able to lift 50lbs (team lifting as necessary); accomplish strenuous work, standing, bending and walking on an ongoing basis in various conditions, including extreme heat and cold; perform administrative work in an office setting; ability to work weekends; evenings and holidays as required. This position will involve approximately 75% of the work being hands‑on in the yard, focusing on outdoor tasks such as inspecting plant material and interacting with customers. The remaining 25% will consist of office responsibilities to support the role.
