Position Summary We are seeking a proactive and client-focused Commercial Insurance Account Manager to support and service a growing portfolio of small transportation and trucking clients. This role is ideal for an experienced commercial lines professional who is organized, responsive, and eager to learn the nuances of trucking risks. Prior trucking insurance experience is not required, however, strong foundational knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and a willingness to learn the transportation industry are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide knowledge of insurance coverages and products, markets, and industry updates to sales staff.

Analyze client needs and exposures during the sales process on new/renewal business and cross-selling opportunities.

Market and follow up on complete submissions including applications, loss analysis and other pertinent information to all eligible and appropriate carriers, for new and renewal business.

Respond to underwriters' questions in a timely and professional manner.

Analyze and compare carrier quotes for proper coverages and rating.

Adhere to Commercial Lines Best Practices including written confirmation of new and renewal binding, evidence of coverage, changes to coverage and other related items.

Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance, as needed.

Maintain a high degree of accuracy in processing within the agency management system.

Process client requests in a timely and professional manner.

Provide direction to clients in submitting first reports of claims, facilitate prompt response from carrier.

Direct processing work to assistants, and other projects or duties as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Active Property & Casualty license (required).

Solid understanding of commercial lines coverages (General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property, Workers Compensation, Umbrella, etc.).

Ability to manage a high volume of accounts in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Willingness to learn transportation/trucking coverages and regulatory requirements.

Willingness and ability to keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology.

Interpersonal communication skills, capable of high volumes of communication streams to keep good working relationships with coworkers, clients, markets, and vendors.

Preferred (Not Required)

Experience working with transportation or logistics clients.

Familiarity with FMCSA filings (BMC-91, MCS-90, etc.).

CISR, CIC, or other professional designation.
