
Immigration Paralegal

Bass, Berry & Sims is recruiting for an Immigration Paralegal who will provide advanced support to attorneys in a fast‑paced business immigration practice. This role is responsible for independently preparing, filing, and tracking employment‑based immigration matters while serving as a primary point of contact for clients, foreign nationals, and government agencies. The ideal candidate has at least two years of hands‑on immigration experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage cases with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file a wide range of employment‑based immigration petitions and applications and related ancillary filings
Draft immigration forms, support letters, and correspondence for attorney review
Analyze case facts and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations
Manage and maintain electronic and physical case files, including tracking deadlines, expirations, and case status updates
Communicate directly with clients, foreign nationals, attorneys, and government agencies regarding case progress and documentation needed
Respond to routine case status inquiries and elevate issues to attorneys as appropriate
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate filing
Assist with audits, RFEs, NOIDs, and other government correspondence under attorney supervision
Maintain data integrity in immigration case management system
Mentor or provide informal guidance to junior paralegals or legal assistants, as needed
Perform other duties necessary to support the immigration practice and deliver exceptional client service
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of prior immigration paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate immigration environment
Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated experience with employment‑based immigration matters
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience with immigration case management software (e.g., Blue Dot and Corpay)
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Experience working directly with corporate clients
Familiarity with compliance‑driven environments and high‑volume case management
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
