IPS Employment Specialist – Routes – Fixed Term Contract REF:

NWM/679

Role Overview:

As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping people with mental health needs find meaningful and fulfilling employment. Joining a well‑established and award‑winning IPS service that utilises the skills of people from a variety of industries, you will receive excellent training and support to develop your skills and have access to a broad range of opportunities within Norfolk and Waveney Mind.

Contract Details:

Full‑Time:

37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Contract:

Fixed Term Maternity Cover until October 2026

Salary:

£31,049 per annum

Location:

West Norfolk, mainly Kings Lynn (work hub: REST Kings Lynn); hybrid role – minimum 65% community work, remote for admin tasks.

Driver’s Licence & Vehicle:

Essential. Business insurance required. Mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile (excluding the home‑to‑work commute).

Responsibilities:

Support and motivate individuals with mental health conditions to access and sustain paid employment.

Regularly meet with clients to listen, offer support and help them identify their best job match, reflecting their skills and aspirations.

Assist clients with CV production, interview techniques and managing their health at work.

Advocate for clients by educating and engaging employers about the IPS service.

Sourc[e] job opportunities through regular contact with local employers.

Promote employment and raise expectations around service users’ ability to access paid employment, breaking down barriers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Supportive and empathetic with strong communication and listening skills.

Ability to initiate and develop relationships with individuals; engage employers via phone or face‑to‑face.

Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.

Experience (preferred) in coaching, mentoring, recruitment, training, human resources, pastoral support, management, mental health, education or sales.

No prior mental health sector experience required.
