Equities Derivatives Sales and Trading Platform Lead

Citi Equities Technology organization is looking for a senior hands‑on technologist to lead the delivery of a strategic Equities Derivatives Sales and Trading Platform. This is a Senior Vice President (SVP) level role located NY Metro Area. The target platform will support Sales and Trading flows for listed Equities Derivatives and vanilla OTC products, such as volatility swaps and variance swaps. The person in this role will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of the platform and the replacement of legacy and vendor trading systems. The objective of this multi‑year initiative is to reduce the overall cost of platform ownership as well as “price per feature” for any new development. The platform includes the user interface, the order management modules, control layers, and supporting services. The functionality is centered around sales, RFQ, pricing, trading, and booking workflows. This is a hands‑on coding leadership role.

Responsibilities

Delivering on a multi-year technology transformation roadmap in alignment with the budget constraints and in line with the business value proposition.

Close partnership with the business to maximize the value of the platform while driving the consolidation of multiple systems.

Oversight of legacy and vendor sales and trading platforms. Management of book of work for these platforms through the period of transition to a new system.

Management of a global team of developers.

Oversight of system architecture, design of key modules, SDLC, and adherence to technology standards.

Close collaboration with production support and quality assurance teams to ensure successful delivery and operation of the system.

Partnership with Quality Assurance teams to achieve high degree of tests automation.

Technology budget management and meeting budget targets.

Consolidation of technology products and rationalization of vendor relationships.

Hiring new talent.

Partnership with other technology teams including Client Connectivity, Execution Services, and Risk.

Close partnership with regulatory, compliance, and audit.

Compute and estate management including hygiene, security, and vulnerability items.

Qualifications

Past record of successful delivery of sales or trading order management systems on a global scale.

Past record of successful delivery of Equities Derivatives Trading or Market Making Platforms.

Experience with Angular or React frameworks.

Experience with java, java script and typescript.

Proven experience with options pricing, trading, reference data, and market data.

Command of the latest AI productivity tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Devin.AI)

Strong Engineering background and understanding of modern architectures and frameworks (GUI, middleware, server, document & relational databases)

Strong command of modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.

Solid understanding of Equities products and services.

Strong knowledge of FIX protocol.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States.

Salary Range: $176,720.00 - $265,080.00. In addition to salary, Citi offers discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
