Trade Compliance Specialist !
The Role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Trade Compliance Specialist who brings energy and expertise to the table. The Trade Compliance Specialist supports the company’s business operations, domestically and internationally, by developing and executing the company’s import/export processes in areas such as classification, valuation, country of origin, and customs broker/third party management. Additionally, the position provides international trade compliance support to qualify goods for various trade preference programs, admissibility, and analysis of trade related issues. The Trade Compliance Specialist will also work cross-functionally with other team members in Procurement, Transportation, and Accounting, as well as suppliers around the globe to ensure compliance with U.S. and international import/export regulatory requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
Complete & submit customs documents for sea & air shipments coming from outside of the U.S.
Determine the appropriate HTS, ECCN & Country of Origin for parts/products
Process and ensure timely submission of Importer Security Filings ("ISF") to U.S. Customs & Border Protection ("CBP") by customs brokers and freight forwarders
Interface with customs brokers, CBP, and Partner Government Agencies ("PGAs")
Work with Procurement for timely notification of all inbound international shipments
Maintain recordkeeping in accordance with regulatory & internal requirements
Review USMCA Certificates of Origin & communicate findings to all parties for compliance
Qualify goods for Free Trade Agreements
Perform duty and tax payments on imports in the U.S. and Canada when necessary
Assist in development & maintenance of compliance manuals, procedures & work instructions in accordance with import/export laws, regulations, & administrative practices
Assist with the preparation of monthly KPI metric reporting
Create & review Standard Operating Procedures ("SOP") with TMHNA customs brokers
Provide support to internal customers on import/export requirements
Other duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
1+ years of experience in international trade compliance (import/export/sanctions)
Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (import)
Knowledge of U.S. export regulations
Demonstrated experience:
Classifying merchandise using the HTS/Schedule B classification
Calculating the customs value of goods for import and export
Experience with making country of origin determinations
Knowledgeable with Free Trade Agreements
Certified Customs Specialist ("CCS")
Capable of working independently and being a self-starter
Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to address complex issues
Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, flexible, impeccable integrity, and good judgment
What Sets You Apart
Licensed Customs Broker
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, or International Studies)
Business, Logistics or Supply Chain experience
Experience with trade compliance software
Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint
Familiarity with SAP or equivalent ERP systems

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like Salary
– $73,840 - $106,845 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
