Plumbing Designer

We are seeking a talented and innovative Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical design and be proficient in various design software and be experienced in Plumbing Systems Design. This role involves creating detailed schematics, drafting designs, and assembling components for various projects. The Designer will collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure that designs meet project specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Design and develop plumbing and fire protection systems, including hot/cold water, waste/vent, storm drainage, and gas systems.

Prepare load calculations, fixture specifications, schedules, riser diagrams, and technical documentation.

Work with AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus) to draft piping systems and coordinate with project teams.

Supervise junior designers, drafters, and technical assistants.

Ensure compliance with building codes (IPC, NFPA 99, and other relevant standards).

Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and local authorities.

Provide on-site verification of plumbing systems and support construction administration.

Experience

Plumbing Systems Design: 5 years (Desired)

License/Certification

Plumbing Systems Design Certificate (from ASPE or similar) (Preferred)

Requirements

Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM experience preferred).

Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.

Experience in drafting schematics and technical drawings with attention to detail.

Familiarity with building, plumbing, and fire protection codes.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey design concepts.
