What to Expect Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start around January 2026 and continue through the Winter/Spring term (ending approximately May 2026) or continuing into Summer 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Tesla is seeking a curious, engaging, and driven Instructional Designer to join our dynamic Sales Learning & Development team. In this role, you will develop innovative learning experiences that empower our sales and delivery professionals to excel in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

What You'll Do

Design and develop engaging, innovative, and effective micro-learnings, instructor-led and eLearning training curricula and courses that are completed in accordance with project plans.

Partner with Lead Instructional Designer, Program Manager, Subject Matter Experts and Stakeholders to plan and scope requirements for curricula.

Work effectively in a cross functional environment, and align with standard operating procedures across training team.

Stay ahead of industry trends in learning technologies and methodologies, innovating to make Tesla's sales training scalable, impactful, and unforgettable.

What You'll Bring

Instructional design experience.

High proficiency and expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced experience in PowerPoint and SharePoint required.

Experience with learning and content management systems and platforms including Articulate Rise preferred.

Deep understanding of adult learning theory and application.

Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to successfully deliver and communicate complex technical training concepts.

Proven time management, organizational skills, project planning, assessment, and providing feedback. 25% travel domestically and internationally based on business needs.
