As a Nelnet Marketing and Corporate Communications team member, you will get a unique look into the happenings of Nelnet’s diversified hybrid organization while having an impact on the way associates receive information and stay connected. In addition, you will have the opportunity to assist in the planning and execution of corporate communications campaigns and projects as well as company events.

Must be available to work approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. Please apply with a cover letter and resume, and be prepared to submit two or more samples demonstrating your communications skills from prior work or coursework.

Responsibilities

Assisting in writing, creating, organizing, and distributing of internal weekly/monthly newsletters, articles, announcements, and other various types of content that support the organization and align with corporate communications strategy and brand standards

Brainstorming engaging content creation ideas and bringing them to life

Seeking out inspirational stories and positive customer experiences

Partnering and collaborating with business areas to determine communication needs

Responding to and prioritizing requests for content creation and distribution

Aiding in reviewing and copyediting content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand standards

Utilizing and helping to maintain the corporate communications content planner

Assisting in updating the company intranet

Working on special projects as needed

Required Qualifications

Passion for writing and excellent editing and communication skills

Creative, enthusiastic, and self‑motivated with a positive attitude

Ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines

Strong problem‑solving skills, analytical capabilities, and collaboration skills

Extremely strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality

Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and tools, leveraging solutions like Microsoft Copilot to optimize workflows, generate content, and support strategic communication initiatives

Expert interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams

Customer‑oriented

Desired Qualifications

Two completed years of undergraduate coursework preferred

Pursuit of a degree in Communication, Journalism, English, or related field is preferred

Some previous work experience preferred

Knowledge of AP Style preferred

Photoshop, InDesign, or other graphic design experience is a plus but not required

Familiarity with social media platforms

Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, Copilot, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
