We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
Substation Designer
to join our team at K&A Engineering in
Pleasanton, CA.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. You’ll be part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions will be valued and celebrated.
Role Expectations
Prepare physical layout drawings for substations and produce electrical plans and sections as well as grounding and conduit drawings.
Prepare bills of materials and review drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities will include the preparation of the following substation drawings:
Substation General Arrangement
Substation AIS design
Substation Electrical Equipment Plans
Substation Section Views (Elevations)
Substation Detailed Bill of Material
Substation Grounding Plan
Substation Conduit, Electrical Connection and Grounding Details
Substation Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plan
Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and Section
What We’re Looking For
Experience 5+ years in utility substation design
A 2 year associate’s degree in engineering technology or drafting is preferred
Proficient with AutoCAD, P4A modeling and MicroStation.
Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
Pay Range $70,000-115,000/year Competitive compensation and benefits provided.
