About the Role We are seeking a driven Acquisitions Manager to source, evaluate, acquire, and asset‑manage multifamily properties throughout the Midwest. You will take ownership of the full investment lifecycle—from identifying opportunities and underwriting deals to executing closings and overseeing post‑acquisition performance.
The role represents a unique opportunity to leverage Friedman’s vertically integrated platform and the institutional knowledge gained from operating 17,000 units. The position works hand‑in‑hand with management, construction, and finance teams to identify, underwrite, and execute investments with real‑time operational insight. Unlike traditional acquisitions roles, this position benefits from direct access to performance data, market intelligence, and execution capabilities, allowing for more informed underwriting, faster decision‑making, and greater control over asset outcomes.
This is a high‑impact role within a growing real estate investment team, ideal for someone with strong analytical abilities and a passion for multifamily real estate. The position is located in Farmington Hills, MI and will report directly to the Executive Vice President, Multi‑Family Strategy and Investments.
What You’ll Do
Source and cultivate multifamily acquisition opportunities across Midwest markets
Develop a robust deal pipeline and evaluate potential acquisitions based on investment criteria and company objective
Create asset management reports and provide market and asset performance commentary
Lead financial analysis and modeling to support asset‑level decision‑making and portfolio strategy.
Build relationships with brokers, owners, lenders, and other market contacts
Underwrite and value multifamily assets using Excel and Argus
Assist in securing financing for existing assets, permanent financing for acquisitions, and the disposition process for assets we intend to sell.
Analyze historical financials, budgets, rent rolls, and operating statements
Lead due diligence including review of PCAs, environmental reports, surveys, and leases
Coordinate closing processes and transaction documentation
Work closely with property management and leasing teams to implement business plans
Provide asset appreciation and ROI expertise to the owners and property management teams.
Provide analysis and recommendations to increase physical and economic occupancy, increase income, reduce expenses, and drive NOI.
Develop and recommend business plans for individual assets and portfolios.
What We’re Looking For
5+years’ experience in multifamily acquisitions, investment analysis, or asset management
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Experience reviewing real estate financials and due diligence materials
Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities Knowledge of Midwest multifamily markets a plus Self‑starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced environment
