Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's in HR, Business Administration, or related field.

3–5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years focused on employee relations or HR compliance.

Position Summary The Senior HR Employee Relations Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a fair, consistent, and supportive workplace environment. This position supports the full spectrum of employee relations activities, including investigations, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to navigate sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies

Strong understanding of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands

Sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time.

Stand for long periods of time.

Lifting/carrying less than 30 lbs.

Employee Relations Support

Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and empathetic responses.

Manage the Auxiliary Employee Relations ticketing system via team Dynamix.

Conduct intake, documentation, and coordination of employee relations cases, including workplace concerns, complaints, and policy violations.

Support investigations by gathering statements, organizing evidence, preparing summaries, and maintaining case files.

Create and maintain appropriate documentation tracking each employee’s progress, policy violations, disciplinary actions, etc.

Confer with management to develop and/or implement personnel-related procedures for the division.

Partner with University Workforce Engagement and leadership to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate, confidential, and organized case documentation.

Prepare reports, dashboards, and metrics related to employee relations activity.

Identify patterns and provide insights into HR leadership to support organizational improvements.

Supervision

Responsible for supervising Employee Relations Staff.

Partner with HR Director to ensure appropriate staffing to support the employee relations and retention needs of the unit.

Policy & Compliance

Interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, and employment laws to employees and managers.

Assist in updating and maintaining employee relations policies, guidelines, and training materials.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Track trends in employee relations issues and recommend proactive solutions.

Training

Support the development and delivery of training on topics such as workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and policy awareness.

Coach managers on effective communication, performance management, and issue resolution.
