Position Summary The Content & Social Media Manager owns University Circle’s day-to-day social media and content presence, with a strong emphasis on photo and video creation, social media engagement, influencer collaboration, and content distribution across platforms. This role ensures the district’s channels are current, compelling, and human, while supporting long-term brand growth.
This is a hands-on role for one who enjoys creating and capturing content and who works well in a collaborative, relationship-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities Content Capture, Creation, and Management
Capture high-quality photos and short-form video throughout the district, including events, public spaces, partner institutions, seasonal moments, and everyday activity.
Edit photo and video content for social platforms using mobile and desktop tools.
Create on-brand graphics and short-form videos using Canva and similar tools.
Maintain a current, well-organized content library of graphics, photos, and videos.
Work with Director of Marketing & Experiences to coordinate freelance photographers, videographers, and drone operators for larger or specialized shoots
Social Media Strategy and Operations
Work with the Chief Marketing & Experience Officer and the Director of Marketing & Experience to develop content calendars across all platforms.
Own daily posting, scheduling, and content flow across all platforms with sensitivity to timing, tone, and audience
Monitor performance and adjust content based on platform insights
Social Media Engagement and Channel Stewardship
Monitor comments, DMs, and mentions across platforms
Respond appropriately and elevate sensitive issues when needed
Actively engage with partner institutions, artists, performers, influencers, and community members on all platforms
Source, request, and reshare user-generated content to keep channels current and participatory
Influencer and Creator Marketing
Help develop and manage an influencer and creator strategy aligned with the University Circle brand
Identify local and regional creators who align with district audiences
Coordinate outreach, content expectations, approvals, and reposting
Track performance and learnings to refine future collaborations
Email & Content Distribution
Own production and distribution of select marketing emails
Compile content, format layouts, manage visuals, links, and basic copy within existing email platforms, currently HubSpot
Coordinate with external teams to gather timely and accurate information
Support future transitions to automated or website-driven email workflows as systems evolve
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, graphic design, or a related field is required.
2+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or marketing
Strong portfolio demonstrating social-first content and short-form video. Examples of photos and videos you directly captured are required.
Proficiency in Canva and a working familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere) or similar tools
Experience using tools such as CapCut, Meta Business Suite, TikTok native tools, HubSpot, and basic video editing platforms
Comfortable capturing photo and video content on-site
Solid writing skills for captions and short-form storytelling
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with the public, partners, and internal stakeholders
Organized, responsive, and adaptable
