Marketing Representative

The Appalachian, Appalachian State University’s independent student-run news organization since 1934, produces a monthly print publication and twice-weekly email newsletters during the academic year. Recognized with prestigious awards including the ACP Pacemaker Award, CMA Pinnacle Award, and NC College Media Association Best of Show award, The Appalachian is a trusted source of fair and accurate news. Its mission is to inform and entertain while fostering community dialogue and advocating for student, faculty, staff, and community interests, all while maintaining editorial independence. Based in Boone, North Carolina, it is dedicated to the exercise and protection of First Amendment rights.

Role Description This is a part-time position, great for resume building! Responsibilities include promoting The Appalachian through social media, content creation, and increasing engagement through marketing efforts. As a Marketing Representative, you will also contribute to and participate in weekly team meetings and work collaboratively to meet organizational goals. There is room for advancement and possible scholarship opportunities.

Qualifications

There are no qualifications necessary, aside from being an Appalachian State student and having an eagerness to learn.
