Communications Manager, Enterprise

Anthropic, New York, NY, United States

About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About The Role Anthropic is looking for an Enterprise Communications Manager to drive communications strategy and execution across our enterprise business. This is a central role in how Anthropic shows up with enterprise customers, partners, and buyers.

Anthropic is the top AI company for enterprises. Your job is to sharpen and scale it the communications program. The role spans the full breadth of enterprise communications: product launches translated for business audiences, vertical narratives for industries like financial services and healthcare, partnership and customer announcements, executive thought leadership, competitive positioning, and content that speaks to CIOs, CFOs, and CISOs and millions of business users. You'll coordinate tightly with sales, partnerships, marketing, analyst relations, product, and others.

This is a fast-paced and lean team, so you need to be as comfortable building repeatable playbooks as you are crafting a narrative. The best candidate comes from an AI communications background and brings deep experience across multiple enterprise comms disciplines — product, vertical, partner, customer, and executive communications — understands how large organizations evaluate technology, and can develop a messaging framework in the morning and turn around a press release by end of day.

Key Focus Areas Product and launch communications

Develop enterprise-centric communications strategies for model and product launches, translating technical capabilities into business value

Ensure every launch lands with enterprise audiences — not just developers — with messaging tailored to buyers, decision-makers, and industry-specific use cases

Partnership and customer storytelling

Lead communications for partnerships and customer announcements, from messaging development through media execution

Build a library of customer proof points and case studies with measurable outcomes that sales and marketing can use across channels

Vertical and industry communications

Develop narratives and content for priority verticals including financial services and healthcare and life sciences, among others

Support tentpole moments like Industry Days and The Briefing series with content tailored to specific buyer personas

Executive thought leadership

Support positioning for Anthropic's commercial and product leaders through media preparation, speaking engagements, and social content

Develop distinct platforms that complement Anthropic's existing executive voices

Competitive positioning

Track competitive landscape and develop messaging that draws clear, substantive contrast with competitors

Arm spokespeople and GTM teams with the language and proof points to defend Anthropic's enterprise position

Responsibilities

Develop and execute enterprise communications strategies across product launches, partnerships, customer stories, and executive thought leadership

Lead end-to-end communications for partnership and customer announcements, from messaging development through media placement

Translate product and model launches into enterprise-relevant narratives — focused on business outcomes, not just features

Build vertical messaging and content for priority industries including financial services, healthcare, and cybersecurity

Prepare executives for media interviews, speaking engagements, and analyst conversations

Develop competitive messaging and ensure spokespeople and GTM teams can articulate Anthropic's differentiation with specifics

Create high-quality content across formats — blog posts, case studies, briefing documents, bylines, and sales-facing materials

Build and maintain relationships with enterprise technology, business, and industry media

Coordinate with sales, partnerships, product marketing, and international teams to keep messaging aligned and opportunities surfaced

Build repeatable playbooks and processes that let a lean team operate at scale

You May Be a Good Fit If You

Have 8+ years of experience in enterprise communications, ideally in B2B technology or SaaS

Have worked across multiple comms disciplines — product, partner, customer, vertical, and/or executive communications

Understand how enterprise buyers — CIOs, CISOs, CFOs — evaluate and adopt technology, and can write to that audience credibly

Have a track record of building media relationships with enterprise and business press

Can move between strategic messaging work and fast-turnaround tactical execution without losing quality

Are experienced in building processes and playbooks, not just executing one-off campaigns

Have strong instincts for competitive positioning and can develop messaging that holds up to scrutiny

Are excited about using AI tools in your own workflows to multiply what a small team can do

Thrive in fast-moving environments where priorities shift and ambiguity is the norm

Care about AI safety and responsible technology development

Annual Salary $255,000—$320,000 USD

Logistics Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How We're Different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
