Overview
This position will produce market-ready Engineered Wood product designs that work and meet or exceed local building codes and 84 Lumber design standards.
Position Details THIS IS A NON-REMOTE POSITION based out of Besssemer location. Pay is based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend all architectural and structural plans
Must understand construction concepts, load development, and be able to size all structural members
Produce design work for production builders, custom builders, multi-family, and light commercial builders, as well as houses that use trussed roof systems and conventionally framed roof systems
Ability to troubleshoot field problems and offer resolutions
Design work must be efficient and accurate at a minimal cost
Miscellaneous projects as determined by the company
Preferred Experience
Conceptual Design, Auto-CAD or Revit
Design software experience in Mitek Sapphire (preferred), Boise Cascade, Alpine
Blueprint reading
Communicate with contractors, customers, salespeople and coordinate optimal designs

Role Overview This position is responsible for overseeing the cutting of engineered wood. The primary duties of this position involve interviewing, selecting, and training of engineered wood manufacturing employees, maintaining production records, determining and maintaining the materials, supplies to be stocked and used in engineered wood products production, assessing engineered wood manufacturing employees' productivity and efficiency handling engineered wood manufacturing employee complaints and grievances, disciplining and/or recommending the discipline of engineered wood manufacturing employees and planning the work.
Responsibilities
Supervise and direct the hourly engineered wood manufacturing employees
Determine and maintain the materials, supplies to be stocked and used in engineered wood product production
Work with customers to create takeoffs
Manage, maintain and train on automated saw systems
Enforce safety measures
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Qualifications
Organized with attention to detail
Excellent written and communication skills
Customer service
Ability to work independently on an assignment
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
