We are seeking an experienced
Contract Communications Specialist
to support corporate communications initiatives for a large, complex organization. This is a year‑long contract with the possibility of extension or conversion, ideal for a communications generalist who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Position Summary The Communications Specialist is a well‑rounded corporate communications professional responsible for developing, managing, and executing a wide range of internal communication content and campaigns. This role supports internal stakeholders through strategic messaging, project management, digital content, and event communications, while ensuring clarity, consistency, and creativity across all deliverables.
The ideal candidate brings strong writing and editing skills, experience managing multiple projects, comfort working with internal clients, and a solid understanding of digital and visual communication tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop creative concepts and write clear, engaging content for internal audiences
Produce a variety of communication materials including memos, publications, intranet content, posters, brochures, presentations, and other digital or print assets
Ensure content aligns with brand voice, style guidelines, and organizational objectives
Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously, following established processes and timelines
Serve as a trusted communications partner to internal stakeholders
Apply strong time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
Partner with clients and colleagues in a consultative capacity to support short‑ and long‑term communication initiatives
Develop and execute creative work plans for individual projects and larger campaigns
Contribute to messaging strategy, campaign planning, and execution
Social Media & Digital Awareness (≈5%)
Demonstrate a foundational understanding of how social media supports corporate culture and communication goals
Provide input on leveraging digital platforms appropriately for internal audiences
Create and edit professional, visually engaging presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
Complete routine administrative tasks such as timesheets, invoice processing, and internal meetings
Required Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, public relations, or advertising
Experience supporting internal communications and multiple stakeholders
Background in electric utilities, human resources or benefits communication, internal communications, or financial/401(k) communications is a plus
Equivalent Experience:
8+ years of related professional communications experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Skills & Technical Requirements
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and AP style
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneDrive)
Advanced PowerPoint skills
Experience with publication or content management is preferred
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with diverse internal clients
