The Benefits Specialist assists in the day‑to‑day administration of health, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, retirement plans, and other employee benefit programs. The role administers employee leave programs in accordance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and collective bargaining agreements, providing support to employees and managers, guiding them, maintaining documentation, and ensuring a compliant leave process. Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS and carrier systems. Support annual open enrollment, including system setup, materials preparation, and employee communication. Review, reconcile, and audit benefits data to ensure accuracy and correct discrepancies. Serve as primary contact for employee benefits questions, providing clear and timely responses. Educate employees on benefit options, eligibility, and processes. Ensure required records are properly maintained and controlled. Process and document leave of absence requests, including FMLA, disability, personal leave, workers’ compensation, military leave, and other statutory programs. Assist with required reporting and audits. Collaborate with HR team on employee onboarding and off‑boarding processes. Maintain confidentiality of employee information at all times. Assist with special projects, process improvements, and system updates within the Benefits department. Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in benefits or HR administration (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Preferred Qualifications

Advanced computer skills in a networked environment, including proficiency with all MS Office products and advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Oracle HCM experience a plus. Highly motivated, energetic, self‑starter with excellent oral and written communication skills. Equal Employment Opportunity Statement

Work primarily in an office environment. Occasional travel to off‑site locations. Exposure to high noise levels, strong odors, and heat or cold may occur. Workers must be able to remain stationary, walk, use hands to handle materials, and occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds. The position may require use of safety equipment in a hazardous environment.
