Senior UI/UX Engineer

ENFOS, Durham, NC, United States

ENFOS Inc. is hiring a Senior UI/UX Engineer to help architect and lead the modernization of the front end of our Environmental Obligation Subledger Accounting Platform. This is a mission-critical system of record used by global industrial enterprises to govern material Environmental Obligation Programs under U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards.

You will define how finance, accounting, and operations stakeholders engage with dense financial, scientific, and operational data within a multi-regulatory reporting framework. This role carries full responsibility for front‑end architecture, design system governance, and workflow standards required to support audit‑grade controls and long‑term platform durability. You will define the standard for usability, performance, and maintainability across the product.

You will play a central role in modernizing our application and shaping the future of our product experience, championing a user‑first mindset while delivering high‑quality, scalable front‑end solutions.

Success in this role means translating complex, data‑heavy requirements into intuitive and efficient workflows, raising both design and engineering standards, and driving user‑centered decisions informed by research, testing, and data.

You are expected to own front‑end initiatives end to end, breaking work into well‑defined tasks, providing reliable estimates, proactively identifying risks and dependencies, communicating clearly across teams, and delivering high‑quality releases on schedule against sprint and roadmap commitments.

What You’ll Do:

Architect and modernize the front‑end foundation of a financial governance platform

Translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into intuitive, user‑centered workflows

Define scalable front‑end architecture patterns for performance, state management, and API integration

Establish and govern a formal design system and reusable component library

Optimize large data grids, reporting views, and multi‑entity workflows for clarity and speed

Partner with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap and system‑level architecture decisions

Build scalable pages and modular React components aligned with long‑term maintainability

Present and defend UX and architecture decisions to leadership and enterprise customers

Continuously elevate usability, interaction quality, and visual consistency across the platform

Additional Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain design standards, documentation, and system‑level consistency across the application

Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on product positioning, launches, and customer‑facing materials

Mentor front‑end and full‑stack engineers on UI craftsmanship, usability best practices, and design quality
