Perform routine tasks to assist in the administration of retirement planning programs, serving as a liaison between the Human Resources department, retirement agencies, and employees. Perform duties with moderate supervision as an intermediate-level individual contributor.
Essential Job Duties
Serves as the primary point of contact for employee communications on retirement systems.
Explains various retirement benefits policies, plan provisions, and procedures to employees, ensuring they understand their respective retirement plans.
Ensures that all tasks completed comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, as well as organizational policies related to retirement processes.
Coordinates transactions for rehired retirees.
Processed terminations and separations.
Liaise with external partners such as retirement plan providers and legal advisors to resolve issues related to retirement plan operations.
Provided customer service by resolving client or employee inquiries efficiently.
Generates documentation and maintains accurate records.
Conducts individual retiree counseling sessions and training programs, and schedules information sessions for eligible employees.
Monitors retirement checks processed through Finance, checking for discrepancies.
Collates salary and/or sick leave certifications related to retirement benefits for current/former employees.
Prepares cost calculations for retroactive service.
Analyzes data related to retirement benefits, providing detailed reports for HR leadership.
Assists with developing communication materials on retirement benefits, including keeping all plan-related documents up-to-date.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree or equivalent completed college coursework from a Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university required.
A minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience is required.
