Overview Do you love being on the mountain and sharing that stoke with others? Ticket Checkers are the friendly faces guests interact with as they navigate lift lines, base areas, and terrain across Big Sky. In this outdoor role, you’ll be responsible for scanning lift access, managing lines, sharing mountain info, and helping guests have a smooth, enjoyable day. Whether you’re on foot or riding between locations, you’ll act as a vital link between Mountain Services and our guests.

This is an incredible opportunity if you're excited to ski or ride daily and want to contribute to an unforgettable guest experience. Intermediate skiing or riding skills are a plus, but not required—just bring the energy and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist guests at base areas and on-mountain lift access points

Scan lift tickets and passes, troubleshoot access issues, and ensure smooth line flow

Rotate through various mountain locations based on your skiing/riding ability

Share up-to-date knowledge about Big Sky Sports products, mountain terrain, conditions, and events

Communicate frequently with Lift Operations, Ski Patrol, Maintenance, and Mountain Services team

Answer guest questions promptly and politely in-person and over the radio

Assist with corral setups, signage, and minor trail fencing adjustments

Work independently and as part of a team, even in harsh winter conditions

Physical Aspects

Pull sleds with equipment (up to 35 lbs)

Set up/tear down fencing and gantries (2-25 lbs)

Work outdoors in cold, rainy, snowy, and windy conditions for extended periods

Qualifications

Previous guest service experience is a plus

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

Riding ability is helpful; willingness to learn is required

Comfortable working outside in all weather

Must be dependable, team‑oriented, and enthusiastic about Big Sky Resort
