The Beer, Wine & Spirits Coordinator supports the Market Retail Supervisor by overseeing daily operations and curating the guest experience within the beer, wine and spirits department, ensuring premium product presentation, efficient stocking, and exceptional customer service. This role acts as a team leader, setting the tone for excellence and helping maintain the store’s upscale standards. The Beer, Wine & Spirits Coordinator also acts as the second‑shift store MOD and is responsible for overseeing store operations during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless and elevated customer experience. This role supports team members across all departments, resolves issues in real time, and upholds the store’s standards for service, safety, and presentation. The MOD acts as the primary point of contact for both guests and staff when senior management is not present.
Specific Responsibilities Team Leadership and Development
Guide and support retail associates during daily tasks and delegate responsibilities and ensure timely completion of stocking, facing, and cleaning
Train new team members on store standards, products, and customer service
Supervise daily operations across all departments to ensure efficiency and consistency
Provide guidance and support to all associates, helping resolve questions, concerns, and workflow challenges
Merchandise and Presentation
Ensure shelves are fully stocked, front‑faced, and visually appealing
Maintain planograms and promotional displays according to brand guidelines
Monitor product rotation and freshness, especially for premium and specialty items
Work with vendors to ensure popular, trending, and new products are available
Collaborate with other Kohler entities on Kohler beverage strategies for special events and cross‑promotions
Customer Engagement
Must be able to independently lead and support tastings, product education sessions, and guest‑facing activations with confidence and professionalism
Assist customers with product inquiries, recommendations, and locating items
Provide knowledgeable service on beer, wine, and spirits, food pairings and cocktail recipes
Act as a visible and approachable leader on the sales floor, engaging with guests and resolving escalated service issues
Ensure that all customer interactions reflect the store’s commitment to hospitality and excellence
Inventory and Operations
Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs with vendors to ensure timely delivery of products
Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying product quality and accuracy
Ensure pricing accuracy and promotional signage is up to date
Communicating effectively with department leads to ensure staffing coverage and task completion
Identify local/trending beverage opportunities that include spirits, wines and beer, and non‑alcoholic beverages and mocktails
Store Standards and Cleanliness
Assist with closing procedures, including cash handling, security checks, and shift reporting
Monitor store cleanliness, merchandising standards, and safety protocols
Support store‑wide initiatives and seasonal resets
Problem Solving and Decision Making
Respond to emergencies, equipment issues, or unexpected challenges with calm and decisive action
Document incidents and communicate follow‑up needs to store leadership
Will complete all duties and requests as assigned by management.
This is a full‑time position, working weekdays & weekends. Shifts vary between 6:00am - 9:00pm.
Skills / Requirements
Highschool diploma or equivalency required
Must be at least 18 years old
2+ years of retail, grocery, or beer, wine, spirits experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong communication, organizational, and decision‑making skills
Ability to lead by example and foster a positive team environment while motivating team members
Familiarity with merchandising standards, POS systems, store operations, and basic cash handling procedures
Basic computer skills and familiarity with computer software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods of time
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
The hourly range for this position is $20.25 - $26.75. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
