SAP Enterprise Architect

Location:

Houston, TX, Onsite 4 days per week

Compensation:

$110.00 - $130.00 / Hourly

We are seeking an experienced

Enterprise Architect with deep SAP expertise

to lead and guide a major

SAP ECC6 to S/4HANA transformation

. This role will play a critical part in shaping the organization's

enterprise architecture strategy

, ensuring SAP capabilities are aligned with business objectives and integrated across the broader technology ecosystem.

The architect will partner closely with

data leadership, business stakeholders, and senior technology leaders

to define architecture standards, support governance processes, and ensure successful delivery of the S/4HANA migration and future SAP initiatives.

This role requires both

strong architectural depth and executive-level communication skills

, with the ability to translate complex technical decisions into clear business value.

Key Responsibilities Lead the

enterprise architecture strategy for SAP

, including the migration from

ECC6 to S/4HANA

. Define and maintain

target-state architecture

, reference models, and technology roadmaps aligned with enterprise business goals. Ensure alignment between

SAP capabilities and enterprise architecture frameworks

, including functional and integration reference architectures. Partner with

data leadership and governance teams

to ensure architecture decisions support enterprise data strategy, governance, and quality initiatives. Guide architecture decisions across

SAP and non-SAP platforms

, including

Google Cloud Platform and Oracle-based systems

. Oversee architecture during

blueprinting, implementation, testing, and deployment phases

of SAP transformation programs. Participate in and help lead

Architecture Review Boards and governance processes

. Collaborate with

Data, Infrastructure, and Solution Architects

to ensure architectural consistency across the enterprise landscape. Communicate architectural strategies and technology decisions to

executive stakeholders and business leadership

. Develop and maintain architecture documentation and models within

Enterprise Architecture tools

(LeanIX, iServer, etc.). Required Qualifications

12+ years of IT experience

, with

7+ years in enterprise or SAP architecture roles Proven experience leading or supporting

SAP ECC6 S/4HANA migrations Strong understanding of

Enterprise Architecture frameworks and reference architectures

(functional and integration) Experience working with

enterprise data strategy, data governance, and data architecture teams Ability to communicate

architecture decisions and technical strategy to executive stakeholders Experience with

enterprise cloud environments

, preferably

Google Cloud Platform Familiarity with

Oracle-based platforms and enterprise data environments Experience with

Enterprise Architecture tools

such as LeanIX, iServer, or similar Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field TOGAF or comparable Enterprise Architecture certification Preferred Experience

Background in

utilities, energy trading, or other regulated industries Experience implementing or integrating

large-scale ERP platforms Familiarity with

SAP integration technologies

(PI/PO, CPI) Exposure to

SAP Fiori and modern SAP UX frameworks Experience supporting

enterprise data governance or working with a Chief Data Office Technology Environment

SAP ECC6 S/4HANA migration Google Cloud Platform Oracle platforms Enterprise Architecture tools (LeanIX / iServer) SAP integration and enterprise data ecosystems
