Director of Operations New Braunfels Christian Academy Director of Operations serves as a key member of the school's senior leadership team, providing strategic oversight and daily management of the school's financial operations and non-academic infrastructure. This individual ensures that all business, financial, and operational, and regulatory functions are managed with integrity, efficiency, and in alignment with the school's Christian mission and values. The Director works closely with the Head of School and Board to support sound fiscal stewardship, a safe, well-functioning campus environment, and the long-term sustainability and growth of the school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Management Develop, manage, and monitor the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Head of School and senior leadership team. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for the Head of School and Board of Trustees. Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation. Manage cash flow, investments, and reserves to ensure long-term financial sustainability. Oversee coordination of the annual audit and tax filings (Form 990) with external auditors and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard school assets. Oversee tuition billing, financial aid administration, and collections in a manner that is compassionate and consistent with the school's values. Evaluate and present financial implications of strategic initiatives and capital projects to school leadership.

Operations & Facilities Oversee the maintenance, safety, and appearance of all school facilities, grounds, and equipment. Supervise facilities staff and contracted vendors, including custodial, groundskeeping, and building maintenance personnel. Manage capital improvement projects from planning through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Develop and implement a long-range facilities plan aligned with the school's enrollment growth and strategic goals. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and building codes. Administer insurance programs including property, liability, workers' compensation, and employee benefits. Oversee negotiation and management of vendor contracts, purchasing agreements, and service agreements.

Human Resources Oversee HR functions including payroll, benefits administration, compensation planning, and school policy compliance. Oversee employee records retention and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Partner with the Head of School on staff compensation benchmarking and salary schedule development. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Technology & Administrative Systems Oversee school-wide technology infrastructure and administrative systems to ensure reliability, security, and operational efficiency. Ensure data security, privacy compliance, and business continuity planning.

Leadership & Strategy Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to school-wide strategic planning and decision-making. Present financial and operational reports to the Board of Trustees and its Finance and Facilities Committees. Participate in long-range planning and enrollment growth strategy. Lead initiatives that improve systems, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

Supervisory Responsibilities Business Office Staff, Facilities/Maintenance Team, Information Technology Team, School Resource Officers and other operational personnel as assigned

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Business degree preferred. xsgimln Experience managing finance department for a non-profit organization preferred.
