
National Sales Manager – Public Sector & Utilities Southwest

Overview
The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the strategic and tactical activities of the assigned region. The primary goal is to establish vision and a business plan for the implementation, development, and execution of sales to Public Sector and Utility accounts. The overall goal of the position is to grow sales of mobility products and solutions.

Responsibilities Sales Management
Establish guidelines and expected levels of performance for direct reports, dedicated to communicating, reinforcing, measuring, enforcing, and taking action where necessary to ensure the highest level of employee performance.
Provide accountabilities and objectives for each direct report that clearly outline performance expectations; update and communicate enhancements as required.
Regularly accompany direct reports on account visits to provide support, leadership, and education; deliver immediate feedback relative to performance as needed.
Provide annual training opportunities to all direct reports to enhance individual skill levels and performance.
Regularly monitor the progress of each direct report, effectively and promptly communicate opportunities for improvement, and assist direct reports in creating individual territory and go-to-market plans.
Delegate authority to encourage personal growth; identify and develop future management from within the team.
Lead, coach, train, and motivate the team by working alongside direct reports in the field, calling on top Public Sector and Utility end users and reseller accounts, with the ultimate goal of developing sales pipeline and revenue with mobility products and solutions.
Business Management
Establish vision and create business plans for new solutions within the vertical; set strategic direction and ensure adjustments to the plan as necessary throughout the fiscal year to achieve goals.
Drive achievement of the team's business plan through execution and control of expenditures.
Own the enterprise mobility ecosystem and work with the channel team, product management, and enterprise sales teams to generate overall growth in the handheld and tablet space.
Serve as the go-to expert at Panasonic for communicating the partner ecosystem message as it relates to handheld and tablet markets.
Determine which trade shows and vertical business functions the team needs to attend; maintain adherence to the detailed vertical market budget.
Meet with the product team and supervisor to discuss partnerships, products, and services needed to expand sales revenue.
Actively identify potential solutions Panasonic can develop to strengthen the organization's position in the specific vertical market.
Engage and leverage effective relationships with internal resources and industry partners to create opportunities and drive further adoption of mobility solutions and products in the marketplace.
Oversee and manage team programs from initiation through delivery, ensuring the right internal resources — technical and business — are aligned to support the team's success.
Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports to management on the progress and state of team activities.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, or a related discipline.
5+ years of successful sales experience in the Public Sector technology market.
Previous experience with remote teams in a channel or direct sales environment.
Seasoned professional with a solid understanding of the mobile technology market.
Solid understanding of business, financials, markets, and the needs of ISVs, resellers, and customers.
Ability to articulate the partner ecosystem value proposition and align it with Panasonic's business objectives.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
Strong communicative, interpersonal, and negotiating skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (up to the CIO level), PCONA HQ Operations, customers, resellers, sales teams, and other internal shared services resources.
Mid-to-high level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, given the business analytics and presentations required for this role.
Proficiency in current CRM tools, with the ability to teach and coach the entire team on their usage.
Ability to manage scope of responsibility: leading a team tasked with driving incremental revenue within the assigned Public Sector and Utility sales territory.
Other Requirements
50–75% travel required.
