
Director of Photography & Video

Boll & Branch is seeking a highly creative, strategic, and hands‑on Director of Photography & Video to lead our visual storytelling across still and motion content. This role blends creative leadership with hands‑on execution, requiring equal comfort behind the camera and at the helm of creative direction.
You bring an elevated aesthetic, strong storytelling instincts, and operational rigor to every project, ensuring photography and video feel cohesive, modern, and unmistakably Boll & Branch. Working cross‑functionally, you translate creative briefs into compelling visual narratives that elevate the brand while supporting business goals.
This role reports to the VP, Photography & Video.
Responsibilities Creative Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Photographers and a Video Shooter/Editor, fostering collaboration, growth, and creative excellence
Establish and uphold a cohesive visual language across all Photography and Video content
Partner with Creative Directors, Art Directors, and leadership to concept, pitch, and bring visionary ideas to life
Balance creative experimentation with adherence to brand guidelines and standards
Photography Direction & Execution
Serve as Lead Photographer, capturing Lifestyle, Product, Still Life, and Talent imagery across Campaign, PDP, and Brand initiatives
Act as the team’s lighting expert, executing studio shoots without reliance on natural light
Collaborate closely with Style, Creative, and Post‑Production teams to ensure visual consistency and elevated execution
Video Strategy & Direction
Oversee internal Video edits, post‑production workflows, and final quality control
Champion Video as a core storytelling medium across the organization
Bridge cross‑departmental Video needs across Brand, Campaigns, Partnerships, PR, and TV
Operations & Workflow
Identify workflow pain points and implement scalable, sustainable solutions across Photography and Video
Communicate equipment needs and repairs to the Photo Studio Manager
Maintain organization and upkeep of equipment rooms and workstations
Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, partners, and agencies
Requirements
BFA in Photography, Film, or a related field
7+ years of experience in commercial photography and/or video, preferably within e‑commerce or luxury brands
Portfolio demonstrating excellence in studio‑based photography of soft goods and/or branded video storytelling
Expert‑level knowledge of lighting, including Profoto and Aputure systems Proficiency in Capture One and familiarity with video production workflows
Strong leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and solution‑focused
Elevated taste level with a passion for interior and lifestyle storytelling
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
The primary location for this role is New Providence, NJ. We believe our business and culture are strongest when we collaborate together in person. As a result, this position is expected to work on‑site in the New Providence office five days per week. From time to time, you may also be asked to work from our Summit, NJ or New York City office when it is in the best interest of the business or your team.
The annual base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $180,000 (new hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role). It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, scope of the role, and internal peer benchmarking. In addition to your base compensation, you may be eligible to be part of the Company’s annual bonus program with a non‑binding Company and individual performance‑based target bonus.
This role is not eligible for relocation assistance. Additionally, Boll & Branch will not commence an immigration case or "sponsor" an individual for this position (for example, H-1B or other employment‑based immigration).
