to join our executive team as
General Sales Manager .

Position Summary The
General Sales Manager
leads all aspects of the dealership’s
variable operations , including
new vehicle sales, CPO, pre‑owned sales, and the finance department .
This leader is accountable for:
Customer satisfaction and retention
Sales volume and market share
Gross profit and departmental profitability
Team development and performance management
The GSM will
plan, lead, motivate, and coordinate
the efforts of the sales management team, finance managers, and sales consultants while implementing proven processes and strategic initiatives that drive results.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, hire, train, and develop high‑performing sales managers and sales professionals
Lead and mentor the new and pre‑owned sales teams to consistently exceed performance goals
Conduct ongoing coaching, training, and career development sessions
Establish a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Facilitate weekly sales meetings and ongoing training initiatives
Sales & Performance Management
Establish monthly and annual objectives for
unit sales, gross profit, expenses, and operating profit
Monitor and analyze productivity reports, commission structures, and performance metrics
Review and approve all deals prior to posting to ensure profitability and compliance
Oversee negotiation and closing strategies for major transactions
Ensure CRM processes and follow‑up systems maximize opportunities and retention
Inventory & Merchandising
Manage and monitor
new vehicle inventory, allocations, and ordering
Oversee used vehicle acquisition strategies including auctions and trade‑ins
Establish merchandising standards for showroom and lot presentation
Implement strategies for efficient turnover and disposal of aging inventory
Audit trade‑in appraisals and attend auctions as needed
Strategy & Market Leadership
Analyze market trends, demographics, and competitive landscape
Partner with the General Manager to develop sales strategies, advertising plans, promotions, and staffing models
Lead major sales events and marketing initiatives across digital, radio, and print channels
Identify opportunities to increase market share and customer loyalty
Customer Experience
Ensure a luxury‑level customer experience aligned with the Mercedes‑Benz brand
Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively
Maintain dealership standards for professionalism, appearance, and facility presentation
Qualifications
8+ years of automotive sales experience , with
5+ years in dealership sales leadership
Mercedes‑Benz experience preferred
Proven record of
driving sales growth, profitability, and market share
Strong leadership skills with the ability to
build, motivate, and retain top‑performing teams
Expertise in
inventory management, desking, and deal structure
Solid understanding of
automotive finance and leasing
Experience using
CRM systems and sales analytics tools
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer‑relationship skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
