SCOPE: The Appraiser assesses damages to property (primarily auto) and ensures fair, accurate, and timely claim settlements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Texas‑specific regulations and repair practices in the P&C space.
This position is also offered in a
remote
work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from their preferred location within the Dallas, Texas area. Must be able to work field claims in Dallas area.
DUTIES:
Inspect and appraise damaged property (auto or home), either in‑person or virtually, depending on assignment
Prepare detailed, itemized repair estimates using industry‑standard software (e.g., Audatex/Qapter, CCC One, Xactimate, Mitchell)
Determine repair versus total loss thresholds and recommend next steps
Review photos, videos, and documentation submitted by claimants, repair shops, or adjusters
Collaborate with adjusters, repair facilities, and policyholders to verify losses and resolve disputes
Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company guidelines, and ethical standards
Maintain accurate records and documentation for claims handling
Stay up to date on Texas repair laws, materials pricing, and appraisal practices
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of experience in property or auto damage appraisal, preferably in a P&C insurance setting
Presentable and reliable vehicle suitable for daily field work (mileage reimbursement provided)
Florida All‑Lines Adjuster License (or ability to obtain within 60 days) preferred
Proficient with estimating software such as CCC One, Audatex, Xactimate, or similar
Strong knowledge of Texas insurance and repair laws
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage a high volume of cases with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
