
Healthcare Packaging Sales Intern

Summary The Tekni Plex Healthcare – Barrier Protection Systems (BPS) team is seeking a summer intern who is prepared to assist with inside sales, lead management and market research opportunities. During your 12 weeks in this role, you will conduct market research to identify prospecting customers, actively participate in contacting those customers, generate leads and qualify opportunities as well as other sales related activities. You will have the opportunity to learn our Sales methodology and work closely with our Sales professionals and Sales leaders, both remotely and on the field. You will support a project to build the pipeline of opportunities for a new manufacturing location, gaining exposure to our manufacturing processes and the Operational team.
Responsibilities And Learning Opportunities
Conduct market and competitive analysis in the Medical Device, Diagnostic, and Pharmaceutical industries.
Gather market intelligence and assist in evaluating new growth opportunities.
Research and generate lists of potential new customers (lead generation).
Set up and lead conference calls with potential customers (prospecting).
Work in conjunction with the Tekni Plex Inside Sales Managers and Regional Sales Team to identify new opportunities among the existing customer base.
Learn and adopt the Tekni Plex Sales Management Operating System (Sales MOS) to develop account plans and manage opportunities.
Build the pipeline of opportunities for new market applications that will use materials manufactured at the new South Madison plant, as well as existing sites within the BPS manufacturing footprint.
Support Project Gemini to identify markets and customer applications for the business case to expand our footprint in South Madison.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge And Ability Requirements
Current pursuit of a full‑time undergraduate degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering or Business major.
Demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity, and a results‑oriented mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ability to use common AI tools to conduct market and customer research.
Strong motivation and work ethic and the ability to work independently, ability to balance multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Candidates should live in the Madison, WI area for easy access to our manufacturing plant.
Available to work at our South Madison site; full time 40 hours per week.
Possible minimal, reimbursed travel requirements in the US (customer sites, tradeshows, other Tekni Plex plants).
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and infrequently lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment Duties will be primarily based in a normal office environment. Most of the job will be performed in a normal office environment with little or no exposure to adverse working conditions or remotely from the candidate’s home office, provided the environment has a low noise level. An infrequent amount of time may be required on the production floor. Limited travel may include tours, observations, and/or troubleshooting in the company’s and/or customer’s production environments.
