Specialist Import Export Trade Compliance
This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining full Import/Export Compliance across North America. The role ensures accurate control of import and export data, provides operational support for North American operations, and ensures adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position provides analytical support, documentation control, and management reporting to safeguard the integrity and compliance of trade operations. Position Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position: Execute day-to-day import and export activities for AISIN North American ensuring full compliance and regulatory Administer and monitor the operations and compliance for AISIN Plants, maintaining control of the importation and exportation. Data analysis of the entries and post entries to ensure the full records Coordinate with customs brokers and logistics providers to ensure accurate entries, valuation, and tariff classification. Generate and analyze reports and KPIs related to Import Export, regulatory compliance, and documentation accuracy. Support internal and external audits (PwC, Deloitte, SAT) by providing documentation traceability and evidence of compliance. Identify and mitigate potential risks in customs operations and propose preventive or corrective actions. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance manuals for customs operations. Collaborate with Finance and Planning to ensure proper cost allocation and traceability of customs transactions. Stay current on changes in North America Customs and Trade regulations to ensure ongoing compliance across plants. Work cross-functionally with departments in AISIN plants to align processes and improve operational efficiency. Other tasks and duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities Essential Skills and Experience: 3-5 years of related experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Data Analytics. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally. Ability to research and assemble information. Strong organizational skills. Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and identify discrepancies in customs records. Beneficial Skills and Experience Knowledge of Mexican Customs Law and IMMEX program administration (strongly preferred). Knowledge of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) laws and trade compliance regulations. Knowledge of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Experience organizing and maintaining data within databases or knowledge management systems; proficiency in database management software. Experience with customs compliance software or Global Trade Compliance (GTC) systems. Knowledge of tariff classification and customs valuation methodologies. Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry. Participation in corporate or regulatory audits. Solid understanding of Incoterms rules. Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field required.
