About the Position The
Project Director – High Voltage Electrical / Substations
will lead the execution of complex electrical infrastructure projects across West Texas. This is an on-site leadership role responsible for managing delivery from
Notice to Proceed (NTP)
through energization and turnover to Operations.
This individual will oversee EPC contractors and coordinate multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Direct full lifecycle execution of high voltage substation and distribution infrastructure projects
Oversee EPC contractors and ensure alignment with contract scope, schedule, and performance requirements
Lead cross-functional coordination across Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Power, SCADA, and Site Operations teams
Manage project controls including budget oversight, forecasting, risk mitigation, and change management
Oversee protection & controls systems, EMS/SCADA integration, and plant controllers
Maintain executive-level communication with internal leadership and key project stakeholders
Drive safety, quality assurance, and commissioning through energization and turnover
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to grid interconnection standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required
Preference for Electrical Engineering degree
Equivalent high-voltage project leadership experience may be considered in lieu of engineering degree
10+ years of progressive project management experience
Most recent 3+ years at Senior Project Manager or Project Director level on large-scale infrastructure projects
High voltage electrical project management (substations + distribution)
Oversight of multidisciplinary teams: Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Power, SCADA, and Site Operations
Protection & Controls systems
EMS/SCADA systems and plant controllers
