The Internal Sales Specialist is a key member of the sales team of Superior Sand & Gravel, Inc. ("SSG")
Responsibilities: Below are the essential duties and responsibilities of the position; other duties may be assigned as directed:
Acts as the internal sales specialist for the SSG Team completing the following critical functions consistently, accurately, and timely:
Field calls and answer questions regarding materials and delivery
Provide material and delivery options to all customers, residential and commercial.
Establishes relationships with customers to understand their product needs and works with the sales and production teams to make sure needs are met
Maintains communication with sales team on new customers and new material requests.
Sets up, explains, and maintains Fast Weigh (sales software database) for customers
Provides customers with technical information they may need (Gradation or Testing reports), as requested.
Researches our aggregate market to know our competitions strengths, weaknesses and material availability. Communicate changing market trends with the sales and production teams
Works closely with dispatch to keep customers aware of trucking availability
Follows up on quoted projects and ongoing delivery projects
Establishes and maintains communication with customer estimators & field personnel on delivered products
Assists Accounting Department and Sales Support; reconciling payments, cash application, A/R collections, customer relations, and distribute essential marketing notifications to customers.
Safety‑focused mentality – (1) Always ensure and promote a safe working environment (2) Employees/subcontractor procedures and policies dispatch will be responsible for (3) OSHA or FMCSA regulations for drivers, employees in the pits.
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the position may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, a candidate would have the following:
Ability to multi‑task with strong organizational skills
Knowledge of aggregate materials/construction/trucking industry is a plus
Work in a Group environment and stay Calm under pressure
Aggregate Sales experience would be preferred
Effective communication with an emphasis on cross‑functional collaboration
Proactive approach, confident decision‑making skills, and takes initiative
Ability to work with all levels of management, employees, vendors and customers
Strong administrative work and computer literacy is critical
