
Key Account Manager - Buffalo Territory

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Key Account Manager (KAM) reports to the Regional Sales Director and is a member of a specialty field team supporting Dompé’s first ophthalmic biologic product based on rhNGF for patients with neurotrophic keratitis.
The KAM is accountable for field activities including education of cornea specialists, comprehensive ophthalmologists, optometrists, and medical & office support staff. They maintain disease and product expertise to maximize patient compliance, develop center and physician‑specific plans, strategically deploy messages and resources, and understand local payer dynamics that influence patient access.

Achieves business goals on a quarterly and annual basis
Become an expert in corneal healing science and clinical trial data and communicate its significance
Serve as a resource to aligned accounts, enabling appropriate education and access to our medicines
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (patient access, managed care, medical science liaisons, marketing, HR, legal, compliance)
Create and implement an effective business plan to guide strategy and track progress
Leverage internal data, tools, analytics, and insights to deploy approved resources and marketing messages
Manage assigned territory budget effectively
Build and maintain relationships with local cornea thought leaders
Actively participate and lead territory business planning meetings
Represent Dompé at professional society meetings as assigned by Sales leadership
Demonstrate leadership within internal teams and share best practices
Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies
Manage diverse customer base in the assigned geography
Travel by plane and car 40‑60% of the time, depending on geography and business needs
YOU COULD BE THE PERFECT FIT IF YOU HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or experience in healthcare preferred
5+ years of successful healthcare sales or account management experience with responsibility for own territory and large geography
3+ years of experience in biotech/specialty sales (preferred)
Live within the KAM geography
SKILLS YOU’LL NEED FOR SUCCESS
Prior work with rare or orphan disease products
Eye care sales experience and relationships in the anterior segment therapeutic area, both private clinic and academic/hospital settings
Exceptional clinical acumen in a scientifically complex environment
Proven track record of exceeding business goals

Understanding of strategic priorities from leadership

Base salary: $135,000‑$180,000 a year. Compensation includes competitive base salary, incentive bonus, and customary benefits. Actual pay depends on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other permissible factors.
