About the Role
Blue Ridge Energy is seeking a motivated
Public Relations Intern
to join our team for a full-time, paid summer internship for up to 12 weeks. This is a hands‑on opportunity to gain real-world experience in corporate communications, media relations, and brand storytelling within a mission‑driven organization.
You’ll work closely with the Public Relations department to support projects that advance Blue Ridge Energy’s communication goals and help share our story across multiple channels.
What You’ll Do
Assist with approved public relations projects and campaigns
Support writing and content development (press releases, digital content, social media)
Help maintain media lists, historical archives, and PR tracking
Contribute to digital communication and marketing efforts
Collaborate with team members on communication initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in public relations, communications, advertising, journalism, or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Interest in writing, video, social media, and digital communication
Able to follow safety standards and work well on a team
Requirements
Paid through a temporary employment agency; must meet agency and Blue Ridge Energy requirements
Valid U.S. driver’s license and good driving record
Must pass background check and drug screening
Some local travel and occasional after‑hours work may be required
Preference for candidates within a reasonable driving distance of our corporate office
