ASTERRA is expanding its presence across the Central US region and is seeking a commercially driven
Account Manager
lead customer growth and technical sales execution across municipal water and wastewater utilities.
About the Job As the
Account Manager-Water Utilities (Central) , you will serve as the primary customer-facing leader for water and wastewater utilities in your territory.
This is a sales-oriented role with strong technical depth. You will work closely with the Territory Sales Manager to drive revenue growth, advance complex municipal sales cycles, and ensure long-term adoption and expansion within water utility accounts.
You will manage the full customer lifecycle — from pre-sales technical discovery through onboarding, value realization, renewals, and upsell — with clear ownership of commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities 1. Revenue Growth & Account Expansion
Drive new revenue and expansion within water and wastewater utility accounts
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across municipal customers
Build and maintain executive-level relationships within water authorities and public utilities
Lead product demonstrations and technical discovery sessions tailored to water utilities
Design and support Proof of Concept (POC) engagements Translate satellite and analytics capabilities into measurable operational value for utility operators
3. Customer Success & Long-Term Value
Own onboarding and delivery of the “First Insight”
Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) demonstrating ROI and operational impact
Act as Voice of the Customer to Product and Engineering teams
Support renewals and long-term strategic growth
What You’ll Need
3–5+ years in Account Management, Sales Engineering, or customer-facing sales roles
Direct experience working with water or wastewater utilities (mandatory)
Experience supporting municipal or public-sector (B2G) sales cycles
Strong commercial mindset with revenue ownership
Ability to travel up to 50–60% across the Central US
Advantage
GIS, geospatial, or remote sensing familiarity
Experience working with reseller or partner ecosystems
