Snapology of Glen Allen engages children ages 3–14 in hands‑on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) learning through LEGO® bricks, robotics, and creative play. We offer enrichment programs, workshops, camps, classes and birthday parties that inspire creativity, problem‑solving, and teamwork.
Role Description This is a part time, on‑site role for a STEAM Instructor & Community Engagement Specialist Intern located in Glen Allen, VA. The intern will deliver engaging and educational STEAM‑based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) programs for children in various settings such as schools, camps, and community events.
Responsibilities will include
Lead engaging, hands‑on Snapology STEAM programs for children ages 3–14 (classes, camps, workshops, parties, and events).
Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that sparks curiosity and creativity.
Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, fun atmosphere.
Identify and build partnerships with schools, community centers, and local organizations to bring Snapology programs to new locations.
Conduct outreach to potential partners, schedule meetings, and present Snapology’s offerings.
Assist with enrollment growth by promoting programs and building relationships with families.
Represent Snapology at community events and fairs to build brand awareness.
Qualifications
College student in the field of education or STEM related discipline
Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging with children, families, and community members
Experience in teaching, facilitating, or leading children’s education programs (experience in STEAM-related fields is a plus)
Ability to manage a classroom and create a positive, inclusive environment
Creative problem‑solving skills and a passion for STEAM education
Well‑organized and detail‑oriented with time management skills
Interest in building partnerships with educational organizations and local communities
Must be willing to travel locally to schools and program sites.
Enthusiasm for working with children and fostering curiosity and learning
First Aid, CPR training, Criminal and Child Clearances is required
Must be able to bring materials back and forth to classes when needed and must be able to lift 30+ pounds at a time
