Technical Sales Engineer - North New Jersey Territory

is seeking a Sales Engineer to lead and develop the North New Jersey territory, serving as a technical sales resource for manufacturers focused on improving throughput, reliability, and operational efficiency across their production environments. This position is designed for a technically proficient sales professional capable of identifying performance gaps within packaging lines and recommending engineered solutions that align with production objectives and long‑term scalability.
The role centers on supporting customers with packaging equipment, industrial printing systems, and automation technologies designed to address real-world production challenges. This is a field-based position requiring direct engagement with plant managers, operations leadership, and engineering teams. The Sales Engineer operates with significant autonomy while collaborating closely with internal integration, engineering, and service personnel to ensure solutions are properly specified, implemented, and supported throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
Manage and strategically grow the North New Jersey territory.
Generate new business through targeted prospecting and outbound engagement.
Assess existing production lines to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
Recommend technically sound packaging and automation solutions.
Conduct on‑site equipment presentations and system demonstrations.
Collaborate with engineering and service teams to scope and deliver integrated systems.
Develop proposals, prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close opportunities.
Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline visibility, and forecast reporting.
Represent Dartronics at trade shows and industry events.
Support long‑term customer success through training and post‑installation engagement.
What We’re Looking For
Residency in North New Jersey with the ability to travel locally.
B2B sales experience within industrial, manufacturing, machinery, or automation sectors.
Comfort with outbound prospecting and territory development.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical equipment.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with CRM platforms and Windows‑based systems.
Technical or engineering background preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary plus uncapped commission.
Realistic earning potential: $75,000-$250,000+.
Mileage and toll reimbursement.
