We are looking for an experienced professional to join our world-class team as a Senior Credit Analyst in San Diego. This is an exciting opportunity with a rapidly growing, publicly traded company, where you’ll play a key role in supporting credit underwriting and due diligence, analyzing sponsor finance structures, and presenting findings to the Investment Committee.

Job Description The Senior Credit Analyst will support credit underwriting and due diligence for prospective portfolio companies, with a focus on sponsor finance structures. This role involves analyzing collateral, borrower performance, and cash flow across a variety of industries, and contributing to credit memos and business cases supporting financing transactions. The ideal candidate will have approximately three years of relevant credit experience and a strong understanding of sponsor finance metrics and risk drivers. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role requires close collaboration with Origination team members and regular presentations to the Investment Committee.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collect and review submitted data from prospective portfolio companies; work with the deal team and borrower management to address any gaps or deficiencies.

Evaluate and summarize financial data from prospective client companies; identify key assumptions and trends, and highlight any inconsistencies.

Work closely with the deal team on the assessment of new opportunities and clearly communicate recommendations for accept / reject decisions; assist in developing ideas for transaction structure.

Research industry drivers and opportunities; assess potential impact of key value drivers on business plan assumptions.

Conduct deep-dive analyses of prospective client companies’ data-tape and asset performance, financial results, forecasts, business plans, intellectual property, collateral, etc.

Participate in the due diligence process, including calls with client company’s executive management, investors, and customers, as well as on-site management visits when appropriate.

Prepare investment committee presentation material and present analysis results to Credit Team peers and Investment Committee in a clear and concise manner

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline, preferably Finance

A minimum of three (3) years of industry experience in a relevant role

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling

Proficiency understanding a borrowing base and workflows for sponsor finance.

Deep familiarity with financial reports: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow

Familiarity with and general understanding of the various aspects of business operations, e.g., sales, marketing, product development, production, etc.

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines

Strong and confident communication skills; meticulous attention to detail
